Joaquim Delgado has a PhD. on Energy Systems and Power Quality (2003) and a MSc. on Electrical Engineering (1991) both from University of Coimbra, Portugal
He is researcher at the Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR – UC) (https://www.isr.uc.pt/ ) and Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, where teaches HVAC systems, Electric Mobility, Power Electronics, Solar PV Technologies, Industrial Instrumentation and Energy Storage Technologies.
For several years he worked in the Portuguese industry coordinating studies on Industrial Instrumentation and Power Quality.
In 2007 he leaded the development of the first Portuguese Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) converting a conventional car into electric.
His current research interests are in the domains of Sustainable Energy and Mobility Systems, Power Quality Costs mitigation, Energy Storage Technologies, etc.
