An even more Global Festival

Responding to the new normal, GreenFest launched, in 2020, an innovative format that married the usual face-to-face festival in Braga with a digital program.

This new format allows us to respond to the challenges of the present time and to extend the reach of the message and the experience to everyone. At the same time, it responds to the brand's mission and global collective awareness, contributing to reducing the footprint and diversifying content and speakers from anywhere in the world.

Greenfest Carcavelos will be entirely digital in order to respond to imposed health restrictions. The digital program includes live streaming from the facilities of Universidade Nova SBE, in Carcavelos.

Lecture - "Sustainable dynamic structures and furniture - smart living!"

Promoted by CorkBrick | Speaker: Miguel Brandão Reynolds People use space a variety of ways. Short rental models are a good example among many that illustrate a trend towards a dynamic interior architecture and design. There is a need to rethink and reinvent how we deal with nature and the space we live in. Our current resource wasting practices are unsustainable. There is a need to return to a philosophy creating long lasting objects that can be reused by future generations. CORKBRICK is a great contribution in this direction. It's a natural solution - leveraging from unique characteristics that only nature provides - sustainable and useful, creating a new philosophy to manage the spaces we live in. Its dynamics, durability and re-usability is consistent with the urgent need to extend product life cycles creating products that will be used and reused over time by more than one generation.

14:00  -  14:30
Lecture - Food, consumption and sustainability: some data and reflections

Promoted by Observa-ICSULisboa | Speaker: Mónica Truninger This lecture starts by addressing the main food challenges that today's societies face. Then he gives a short presentation of data on the impacts of food and its effects on climate change, as well as data on the contribution of food to the Portuguese ecological footprint. Based on the results of the First and Second Large Surveys on Sustainability, it shows the Portuguese people's willingness to change their eating patterns, namely in relation to meat consumption and the adoption of an increasingly vegetable diet. It concludes with some reflections on the transformation of current dietary patterns and intervention tools to promote healthier, more sustainable and inclusive food.

We make the body, we acquire our own body - and this is a process of mutation and transformation, an open project full of possibilities. We live in a time when the vulnerability of the body is being dramatically exposed and revealed. However, the radical attitude can be to accept this vulnerability, to be a conscientious objector and to refuse the martial attitude. Through creative practice, develop the ability to feel everything as part of each of us - to be responsible in a vital and passionate way. In this session we are going to summon our essential Dragon.

With the presence of: - Isabel de Sousa | ISA Instituto Superior Agronomia - Anabela Raymundo | ISA Instituto Superior Agronomia The Plant Based major food trend is getting stronger in consumer choices due to the increasing collective environmental consciousness. Although processed food is loosing pace, convenience and safety is setting the ground for food engineering to get the forefront on the transition to Circular Economy. Either by adding value to the food industry byproducts, reintroducing them into the food value chain or by finding new highly sustainable food sources, the food industry is adapting to the new Green Deal urgencies. Pulses are well recognized as crops to improve soil conditions and to replace animal protein in sustainable diets. As pot bases, dish wipers or pot handles. Do you want to know how? Join us and bring the family.

Lecture - The Emergence of Spiritual Ecology

Promoted by Center For Functional Ecology | Speaker: Jorge Moreira Spiritual ecology is ancestral. Its current importance is related to the profound response it may give to the multidimensional crisis of contemporary times. Perhaps the reflection that is missing to perceive the Unity of Life, the relationship and the interconnection between everything that exists visible and imperceptible, to fill the deficit of perception that is at the base of egoisms, speciesisms and anthropocentrisms, which are the basis of our distance with the other, whether human or non-human. It is inspired by environmental ethics, holistic science, perennial philosophy and ancestral knowledge. It is an emerging area in the academy, which unites ecology and spirituality (awakened perception and deep relationship with the cosmic network), in a broad and sacred awareness of Nature.

Lecture - Menopause: the transition years

Promoted by the Macrobiotic Institute of Portugal | Speaker: Antonella Vignati For many women, the idea of menopause is tantamount to a sense of grief, loss or taboo. This is due to a culture in which the woman's value is directly and exclusively related to her physical appearance and her youth. A culture that still pathologizes (and medicates) any manifestation of the woman's physiology, and clearly could not spare menopause. Preparing the transition is essential and involves recognizing the incipient signs of pre-menopause that can start as early as 35 years of age: changes in cycles (shorter or longer, thinner or more abundant flow, appearance or return of pre- menstrual periods, etc.). More or less subtle changes in the way we are, act and think that are marked by the hormonal changes taking place. Signs that do not mean that menopause is very short, nor that our fertility is over, but that we are slowly entering a different stage that will gradually take us through menopause over the next few years. Rondonda Table - Ecology: between science, culture and awareness

Promovido por Senciência |

Com a participação de:
- Rúben Oliveira, Director Científico na Senciencia
- Maria Amélia Martins-Loução, professora, investigadora e Presidente da SPECO - Sociedade Portuguesa de Ecologia
- Miguel Cortes Costa, realizador

Workshop - Activate your Ability to Dream

Promoted by EUS School of Being | Speakers: Rita Sambado and Rodrigo Maia Loureiro What we encounter most today, unfortunately, is with people without dreams! And this may seem normal as it is, but it really isn't! It is from the dream that everything starts, from that intention that has the ability to move worlds to make it happen. Dreams have the ability to keep the flame of enthusiasm active, and become a support, so that in the most challenging moments you can remember the reason why you are running! The ability to dream is so much stronger, the more your dreams are aligned with you; the more they make you vibrate; the more they are born from a very authentic place of you. And how is that done? How do you activate this ability to dream? And that's exactly what we want to talk to you about!

Showcooking - Brunch for kids and adults - Food is also educating

Promoted by Seasonal by Margarida George | Chef: Margarida George A delicious weekend with Seasonal by Margarida George Taking kids to the kitchen is always an excellent idea. We managed to keep them busy and still make them eat good food. It is a formula for success! Children are proud of their culinary achievements, in addition to eating what they cook, they also encourage those around them to do so. I advocate healthy eating and conscious cooking using natural, unprocessed ingredients. Completely excluding refined sugar, refined white flours, hydrogenated fats and processed foods. It is intended that children in a fun and relaxed way to get their hands dirty, try new flavors, new textures, acquire new skills and follow the path of healthy eating, real food, which is good and is in harmony with the planet. Lecture - "On the Route of Artists in search of the beautiful" an artistic script that wants to be sustainable

Promoted by Stay to Talk | Speaker: Carolina Mendes The northern region of Portugal now has a new Artistic Route that invites national and / or foreign visitors to take a thematic itinerary that connects places of learning from the coast to the interior of the country and which aims to perpetuate the memory of some illustrious figures and respective territories, opening here the possibility of them to be lived in a sustainable way and worked pedagogically. We set out to discover material and immaterial heritage and we are challenged to experience, with the locals, the life and work of six artists, three writers (Agustina Bessa-Luís, Teixeira de Pascoaes and António Nobre) and three painters (Amadeo de Souza -Cardoso, Acácio Lino and António Carneiro). As you travel this route, you get richer as you will get to know the artists, their favorite places, some stories and experiences, which once linked them and which set the tone for the so-called Golden Generation of Amarante. It is a sustainable tourism product because it was designed based on the knowledge of the community and aims to be lived on this basis in which the community itself will be the host, thus ensuring that the destination continues to have its authenticity and identity preserved.

Showcooking - Fermented foods and Probiotics

Promoted by the Macrobiotic Institute of Portugal | Chef: Sónia Jordão Good quality fermented foods contain probiotics and their absorption may be even more effective than if administered through supplements (tablets). Probiotics are already known to everyone - WHO defines them as “living organisms that, when administered in adequate quantities, confer benefit on the health of the host”. They are essentially nutritious to our intestinal flora - the area of our body where almost 80% of our immune system is dependent (absorption, assimilation and elimination). I will introduce you to the famous Sauerkraut (or Sauerkraut) and also other fermentation techniques full of flavor and medicinal properties. Come see how easy it will be to prepare these super foods in your home.

Lecture - Sustainable dynamic structures and furniture - smart living!

In this 1.30 hours workshop, the connection between breathing, movement and quiet will be explored in the unblocking of the parts of the body that hold negative emotions. Easy recipes to boost immunity will also be taught through natural remedies that can be easily made at home.

Class - Chi Kung - Care Practices and Utopia

Promoted by the Macrobiotic Institute of Portugal | Instructor: Margarida Bettencourt The Body is not something we reflect on from time to time.
